About Zion Lutheran School

The Lord has given you the precious gift of children. Children are a great blessing from God as the Bible refers to children as a “heritage from the Lord,” “a reward from Him” (Psalm 127:3), and “a crown to the aged” (Prov. 17:6).

Along with the precious gift of children, the Lord gives parents some serious responsibilities. As His chosen representatives, the Lord directs parents to provide for their children’s daily physical needs and spiritual needs. It is love for God and His will and concern for their own children’s spiritual welfare which moves parents to follow the Lord’s command to bring up their children “... in the training and instruction of the Lord” (Eph. 6:4).

By sending your child to Zion Evangelical Lutheran School, you are asking Christian teachers to assist you with the responsibility of the Christian training of your child. Our Christian teachers have been duly trained, synodically certified, and called by the Holy Spirit to serve you. It is indeed a joy and great privilege for our teachers to assist you in the Christian training of your child.

At Zion Evangelical Lutheran School, we strive to achieve the following objectives:

  1. To provide diligent instruction in God’s Word.

  2. To help students evaluate all aspects of their lives on the basis of God’s Word.

  3. To encourage and train students to become interested and intelligent Bible readers.

  4. To teach students to communicate effectively.

  5. To teach all school subjects which best help to prepare students for a God-pleasing life on this earth and for eternal life in heaven.

  6. To teach all subjects from a Biblical viewpoint.

  7. To provide students a Christian school community in which God’s Word rules supreme.

  8. To give students an opportunity to live their faith in daily Christian living.

  9. To support Christian parenthood and home life as the basis of human society.

  10. To teach students to use their time, talents, and treasures to glorify God in a life of faithful service.

  11. To teach and encourage children to be faithful witnesses for Christ.

  12. To encourage students to live as obedient citizens of their country.

To strengthen the congregation and the church at large through the training of their future members.

?In keeping with the above objectives, the course of study is designed to train the whole child for life on earth and for eternal life in heaven. While we also teach core courses like math, science, and reading to prepare our students for high school and beyond, all of these courses are taught from a Christian perspective.
